Our very first podcast. Recorded rough and raw. We’re joined by former Voiceworks poetry editor, bookseller and editing student Jodie Kinnersley. We talk about the origins of the podcast, trashy books, karaoke high school reunions and how Jojo doesn’t know podcast etiquette.

Awesome stuff. I told people via my blog. You gave me a rad way to start my Sunday – thanks.
How often will you be podcasting?
Thanks for the big ups Sam! Hope your day spent reading is fun!
For now we’re planning to do one every two weeks.
look forward to the next one … way to go mads and jo :)
I love this so much, like unbelievably so!
Hahaha, Bridget Jones! (Bet Jodie wishes she could un-say that one!)
Great job, JoMad!
I want to hear more about Jojo’s hot girlfriend…
Thanks everyone! Send us your suggestions for things to talk about in the next episode!
P.s. my Highschool scheduled a 5 year reunion and had to cancel it because nobody wanted to know about one another’s lives…
Hi JoMad,
Just listened to the first podcast and it’s a really promising start, a good ‘getting-to-know-you’ session. You guys are smart and funny so I’m definitely interested in hearing more.
I think that riffing off a loose structure of however glancingly researched topics (not necessarily the Metcalfian 3) would mean that you won’t run the risk of recording a conversation that you could overhear down the pub. Those are great fun for the participants; anyone else, not so much.
Some of the topics that I’d like to hear you discuss are
1. Future of Editing – less paid opportunities, needed now more than ever?
2. Bookshops – what they are like to work in now/how you think they will evolve in the future
3. Reading & Space – the places we read books and why. Does where matter anyway?
Looking forward to the next one.
Cheers,
James
